Central Vs State University

Central Vs State University

I got a lot of requests from the students regarding the difference between the central university, state university, private university and deemed university. Today, we will discuss the differences between the universities. You'll get a clear-cut picture regarding the difference between a central university, state university, private university and deemed university.

Difference between a central university and a state university in Hindi :

So, in India, we can see mainly four types of university, that is, central university, state university, deemed university and private university. So you have to keep in mind that if it is any university in India, the highest governing body, the topmost governing body of the university is UGC, that is University Grants Commission. It is the topmost governing body of the university. So, approval of UGC is mandatory for any university in India. We may check the state university or the central university,  which is better. Also, check deemed university or vs private university which is better

We can see one by one.

Central University:

The first one is Central University. So in the name itself, central. So, this university central university, established and run established and run by central government that is government of India that is central university establishing and running by the central government, that is, central university. So, it is established and run by the government of India, we will call it as central university. Examples are JNU, which is Jawaharal Naharu University, as well as DU, which is Delhi University, are examples of a central university.

State University :

Now next university is a state university like the Central University. This university is established and run by the state government. For example, the state government of Kerala, the state government of Tamil Nadu, the state government of Karnadaga, the state government of Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh or Gujarat or Punjab, anywhere it is established and run by the state government, not the central government, that is a state university. An example is KUS, which is Kerala University of Health Sciences in Kerala. It is a state university. RGHS, which is the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. It is a state university of the government of Karnataka.

Deemed University :

The next one is deemed a university. Deemed University is also known as a deemed university. If you are saying deemed university or deemed to be university no difference; both are the same. So deemed university means it will be an institution or college. Deemed a university earlier, it will be a college or institution and many courses will be there in that college. If that college is maintaining good academic excellence, good infrastructure is there, good results are there and a huge capacity for the intake of students is there and this college is maintaining all the qualities that are required for a university. Now this college can apply to the UGC to make it as a university. Now, if the UGC feels it is fit to give it as a university, they can change the name from the college and they can call it a deemed university or deemed to be a university. So, always keep in mind the deemed university.  If you are seeing earlier, it will be a institution or college for example anapoa university in karnadaga earlier it was college it was group of institutions but now it is deemed university or deemed to be university it is not college we can call it as deemed to be university now it is a university that is deemed University earlier it will be a college then if they are showing the good academic excellence good infrastructure and good result is there and huge capacity for the intake of the students is there and they are maintaining all the qualities that is required for a university they can change their name after getting the approval from the UGC they can change their name to be deemed university.

Private University :

The next one is a private university. So, a private university in the name itself is establishing or established and run by a private person or a private management, not the government. It is established and run by private management or a private person. For example, Sikkim Manipal University is a private university. So, these are the four types of university. The four main types of universities are central university, state university, deemed university and private university. Now the confusion for the students is whether I'm taking admission in a deemed university or in a private university there is any problem. So you have to keep it in mind that if it is any university, it is a central university, state university, deemed university, private university, UGC is mandatory for your university. You have to check whether the approval from the university grants commission is there for a deemed university or private university, or state university or a central university. If UGC approval is there and they are maintaining the quality, they are maintaining the quality no problem; you can take the admission. Now the next doubt is regarding an autonomous college. Regarding the university, this much only now, the next confusing thing is the autonomous college. So in some colleges, you can see that it is an autonomous college. An autonomous college means it's a college only, but it has some kind of autonomy or some kind of power is there. For example, academic power will be there. Academic autonomy will be there, as well as administrative autonomy or power will be there for this type of college. An autonomous college has the power to prepare the question paper. They have the power or the autonomy to conduct the exam. They have the autonomy to evaluate the answer sheet. But finally, the degree will be awarded by a university, not the college. It is a college. It is not a university. Some kind of power is there for for example, for the preparation of the question paper. Power is there for conducting the exam. Power or autonomy is there for evaluating the answer sheet also, power is there, but to award the degree, this autonomous college does not have the power or autonomy; the degree will be awarded by the university. That's all regarding the different types of university we'll meet soon with another video till that time, thank you and goodbye
